Eph-B-NZ-LABOUR-1931-01, Alexander Turnbull Library

An arrangement of text and illustration, condemning the coalition government of Forbes and Coates for employing relief workers to do the heavy work of horses on the roads. Shows photograph with inset of Richard John Seddon. Exhorts the public to vote Labour. ; Dated as 1931 in Tony Simpson's "The sugarbag years". The coalition of Forbes and Coates started in September 1931, and the 1931 election was two months later, so the poster probably dates from just prior to the election, rather than being from the 1935 election (leaflet previously dated as such). ; Photographer was Jeremy Garvitch in 1931 (this information from Joan McCracken).; Exhibited in "I protest" poster exhibition, Level 1 foyer Alexander Turnbull Library, Feb-April 1997.; Inscriptions: Recto - beneath image - New Zealand Worker
